Ronnie Webber, 27, was arrested on negligent homicide charges Thursday night. According to Kenner Police, Weber said he was holding a semiautomatic handgun and listening to a rap song when he imitated the lyrics that called for a gun shot and the weapon went off and hit his friend, Johnathan Beasley, 23, in the chest. Beasley was taken to Elmwood Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. Police said Webber told them he thought the gun wasn’t loaded, but he said he didn’t check it to make sure.
