You would be surprised how little Americans know about Canada.
Sadly, no, I wouldn't. But it's rude not to pretend that folks know the really, really easy stuff, like where Canada is and that Muslims caught by intelligence agents with explosives are jihadists.

I got chatting the other day with an immigrant from Tunisia. When he told me where he was from, he immediately started to show me where it was located. I'm sure he has to do that so much it's become a reflex. However, you wouldn't do that with Canada, even if you expected the party didn't know. It would be rude. <g>

Isn't Canada up around the Arctic Circle, bounded by Alaska, Iceland, and Newfoundland?
