You have to accept that the muslim population is very large in the world. You will find radicals much easier in larger groups. Larger percentage of uneducated population will lead to this type of behavior. Youth in such societies are much easier to manipulate.
Just evolution or growing pains in some societies; that is all. These types of events in Canada only raise awareness within their community and is good for the longer term. Radical priests will not be tolerated by most muslims in Canada because it affects how they are seen in Canada. This is generally how the moderates assume power within a community.

Most probably think radical islam is on the rise. I disagree. It is probably on its last legs. Once the radicals are exposed all over the world and average muslims realize they have nothing to gain from allowing such people to gain power or influence, transformation is possible. Just look to Iraq and Palestinians (Hamas election win), these guys are not good for the average person; and the sooner they see proof, the better it is.

I am an optimist.<g>
