"New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi said Thursday that a fellow New York Democrat would "put a bullet between the president's eyes if he could get away with it.""

Is this much different than Jesse Helms warning Clinton to stay away from his state or Bill's safety would be in danger? Tell me, how does a State Comptroller stack up against an influential Senator?

The GOP has burned all of its stakes as far as indignation.

In an outrageous remark that has at least one Republican calling for his resignation, New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi said Thursday that a fellow New York Democrat would "put a bullet between the president's eyes if he could get away with it."

How is that any different from the remarks about Dems made by the Coulters, Delays and Rushes through the years?
