This would be a good, if not ironic, acquisition by AMD. There are some good people to be had. Sadly, AMD's "x86 everywhere" may stand in the way. So that leaves Samsung...

Seriously, though, there's some pieces of the Comm business I didn't see mentioned in the EETimes artice. Intel typically sells the chipset and cell-phone processor very cheap as a "bundle" with the Intel flash. Without these discounts on the other cell-phone innards, flash would be even less viable.
