US losses in Iraqi are insignificant compared to what we've brought down on the Iraqis. It's OUR FAULT that the Jihadist militants (both Salafist/Shi'a) are blowing up innocent civilians?? Seems to me the fact that they are depending upon such EXTREME measures in order to prevent a democratic government from forming in Iraq is EVIDENCE that we're threatening their agenda. Sure, you could have the Ba'thist back in power, where only the Shi'a and Kurds are brutalized.. But NO REMORSE on your part for what we permitted to be brought down upon THEM by permitting Saddam to remain in power in 1991... And no remorse on your part for permitting the Taliban to come to power in Afghanistan during the previous administration. And there will be no remorse on your part for what will transpire in the Mid-East if we permit Jihadists to dominate the region and indoctrinate millions of young people with their belief of global Jihad and martyrdom operations. But you folks are perfectly happy about Reagan and Bush Sr. siding with Saddam. As a lesser of two evils between helping him to prevent the Iranians from winning?? Yeah... it was probably the best thing to do.. How much longer do you expect the US to "be tough"? How long do you expect the American people to buy into ~"It's a choice between cut and run and being tough"? How much longer do you expect the American people to listen to "We're making progress."? I expect that we uphold our obligation to the new government. When they request that we leave, we leave. Whey they have sufficient military and police forces trained to bring internal order to the country, then we consider drawing down our forces. But if we "cut and run", you GUARANTEE that the new government will fail. Hawk
