That sums up iraq these days. Biden has all but thrown in the towel now, although he did mention there are still three months to go for amendments to the iraqi constitution that may make things better. But thats doubtful for a govt that still sits without interior and defense ministers.
The best partition solution came from left wing poster, Party Time. Southern state of shiaastan with southern oil for about half the population. For the rest a secular kurd, sunni arab and shiaa in about equal numbers and they get northern oil. One of the possibly good things for the region is that it takes kurds eyes off of independence. I think at best thats where we are now headed and at worst three state solution with indy kurdistan with northern oil leaving a second palestine in the heart of sunni iraq.
