I acknowledge that if you dig deep enough, you will find statements to support any positive or negative position you want in almost any religion. Humans quite freely contradict explicit religious edicts when they are deemed incompatible with their immediate political reality. It is only where they can support their agenda through religious edicts that they get a religion.


Yes, BUT that begs the question of whether you have to "dig deep" to support your position, or whether scripture to support your position is right on top, as it were, in the mainstream, unquestioned by 99% of your fellow believers.

Just because you CAN get both warlike and pacific positions out of Christianity, Judaism and Islam does NOT mean that all three religions are the same or preach the same message.
