Re: "Fault? I don't think I said fault. I said we should not surprised........that we are the innocents attacked unprovoked."

So, here you say we were innocents attacked unprovoked. Whoops, you didn't mean it that way. You feel the attacks were overdue (your word).

That's right......I didn't mean it that way. The statement up above is a typo....it left out the word, not. That we are not the innocents attacked unprovoked.

Truthfully, it can be said that we are innocents in the sense that most Americans don't know the games their gov't is playing on their behalf. Hence, the national outrage that developed after 9/11. I don't think it was hypocrisy........I think it was genuine. For the most part, Americans are oblivious to the screwing of Muslims that their leaders have been doing for decades. After all, who bothers to read congressional records except for a few people like myself.

You feel we provoked the attacks, and shouldn't be surprised therefore. Perhaps my interjection of the word "fault" is somehow inconsistent with your thoughts? I hadn't thought so, and as yet don't find reason to think so. Make up your mind then, was the attack justified thanks to our provoking actions, or not?

Stop putting words in my mouth. I never said justified. I think violence is rarely justified. I said we should not be surprised that we were attacked.

I know you don't condone the attacks upon us. I therefore know you should say all we did which the attackers may use to justify the attacks, does NOT justify the attacks, and that the attacks were not even due us let alone "overdue."

Saying the attacks were not justified is one thing. To think they were not overdue is quite another thing. Do you not understand human nature? Are you suggesting that Muslims should have turned the other cheek when American leaders committed act upon act that has harmed their people and helped their dictators enslave them? Its certainly noble sentiment but in my experience, rarely are humans that noble. Frankly, if positions were reversed, I don't think Americans would turn the other cheek. What am I saying? Of course we would not turn the other cheek........look no further than Iraq and Afghanistan.

You keep wanting me to be the 'good' American and to be outraged and indignant like you even when I know the truth. Sorry. I would never betray my country but I am not going to sit here and play stupid while you all go around terrorizing the world.

Re: "your opinion reflects someone not very well informed"

Do you think stating that unsupported opinion furthers anything here? Ok. I think your opinion reflects someone not very well informed. I also think your opinion reflects someone not thinking clearly. There, topped ya right back

Okay. Since you are suggesting you are informed, how do you think Muslims should react to the notion that the US financially supported the Shah of Iran who enslaved and milked his people for all they were worth? How do you think Muslims feel about the US supporting Saddam during the 1980s sending him financial and military aid in his war with Iran......looking the other way as he committed genocide against the Kurds and tortured his people? How do you think the Iranians should feel about the American embargo of Iran with American warships in 1987 in order to help Saddam in his war against them? At the time, the war had gone on for years and Iranians were having to send in 14 year olds to fight because they had lost so many older men in the war. How do you think the Muslims feel when we installed bases in Saudi Arabia? After all, for them its the equivalent of putting a air base right next to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. And of course, there is always the taking of Arab land to create a Jewish state; the intervention in the operation of the Suez Canal; and the landing of Marines in Lebanon.........to help create more animosity. That's a short list of American transgressions.......quick and dirty.

And don't forget that the short lists of transgressions by American allies.......the Brits and the French.....are even longer.

So now, tell me why you were surprised that Muslims attacked the US? If you are as informed as you suggest up above, then what does that say about your current position?
