Conroe XE 2.93GHz will very likely use less power than the FX-62. If AMD can get that hot rev. F 125W TDP core down to 35W Intel should be able to make a 35W Merom.

Merom clocks at 2.33GHz, and presumably, like Turion vs. A64, they use more low-power transistors.
