Bin Laden would have fought alongside the saudis if the US hadnt intervened in the gulf war and saddam kept moving.

OF COURSE.. that's historical fact.

But Turabi, the Sudanese Islamist leader, supported Saddam. And when Bin Laden LATER took refuge there, he was introduced to Iraqi Intelligence leaders and a secret agreement of co-operation and coordination transpired.

That's why Bin Laden vocally came out and supported Saddam's fight against the Americans, after which, Zawahiri visited Baghdad.

And breaking Iraq into 3 chunks isn't going to solve the problem Mike. It just isn't. If anything, it will make it even worse as the various partitions fight amongst one another over terroritory (Kirkuk, for one example).

And do you think the Sunnis are going to be content with Shi'ite control over 80% of Iraq's oil reserves?
