We won the war in Iraq.

We did? When did they surrender? The war never ended.

It was one thing to have the sword of damocles over our head during the cold war. Now we have assymetric terrorism. I agree with much of what you write but do not buy terrorism is or should ever be considered as " Like disease, crime and bad weather" So sure it may take a long to time to win, but it must be won. Part of winning it btw is protecting the home front.

The war in Iraq is still going on and getting worse by the day. It's simply a rightwing excuse mechanism to split Iraq into 'the war' and 'the occupation.'

That way they can campaign on the idea that Dubyette 'won' the 'war' when in fact he has lost it. After all, Dubyette's own milestones and goals have been trampled time and again. So, even using Dubyette's own flimsy standards, he's lost.

3 years later, Dubyette should be vacationing in Baghdad.

At some point, the rightwing has to accept responsibility for utter incompetence and putting self before country.
