I'm not sure about that. Certainly they are still producing Netburst CPUs, but it seems reasonable that their inventory would shift toward all 65nm parts from a mix of 90nm and 65nm parts.

There are not huge differences between the parts, and Intel is heavily discounting 65nm Netburst parts. Inventory reduction is a cover for a frantic attempt to not lose market share and show a small victory on Q2 (among many losses).

Doug, Dirk Meyer said today that AMD would be at 25% market share at the end of the year, 3-4% higher than it is now, IIRC. Do you suppose he said that because he has secret insider information showing that Intel's price cuts are working?

Or do you think he has secret insider information that Intel's price cuts are NOT working?
