Just thinking out loud, but the whole Rush/Coulter hate machine starts to stumble when their favorite pols actually get power and have to wield it. Instead of crusading on the "my guy would do the right thing and the Other Guy is shit" platform, they end up attacking the opponents of the incumbent and apologizing inadvertently for all the stupid partisan f'ups that inevitably happen. None of the openly partisan broadcasters on either side reach more than a few per cent of the electorate. One day, perhaps, the utter triviality of that number may become apparent.
