It would just mean that "tax and spend Republicans" is also true. Bull shit. You know damn well that the implication of "Tax and Spend Democrats" is that the Republicans are fiscally responsible. And it's not true. So you want to tell the truth, say "Profligate spending politicians of all stripes", quit the partisan crap that Reps are better fiscal managers than Dems. re: Reagan was a net tax cutter. Reagan raised taxes when he knew that he was going to screw future generations if he didn't. Admirable. re: Kennedy did indeed cut taxes, and it was a good thing, but not to <sic: too> many other 20th century Democratic presidents followed that pattern. Either have too many Republican presidents. re: Clinton moved the growth of government from taxes to regulation, but new regulation still makes for a larger more intrusive government, and he increased taxes. Data to support? Clinton actually reduced government employment, the first in a long time (maybe ever) and the only since. You really hate Democrats, don't you? re: Also Clinton was able to cut military spending so much because of the end of the cold war which Reagan's spending increases helped bring about. You kiss Republican butt! More dogma. We beat the USSR economically, not militarily. Ask the Russians. re: "One of the things was a historic reforming welfare." - Largely a child of the Republican congress. You are a Republican lap dog... you LOVE to sit on those guys laps! It was a Clinton sponsored bill, and he signed it. It's a Clinton accomplishment... what does Bush, or Reagan for that matter, have to compare? re: Technically true because there haven't been many new entitlements since Roosevelt. Well "technically" true is also "factually" true. If you talk entitlements, Bush is far more of a spender than any president since Roosevelt. But you LOVE those Republicans, you LAP DOG you. re: Also I would say the pragmatic side of the politicians isn't as much "what benefits the people", as much as it is "what can get me votes and or money". Its pragmatic for the politician, not necessarily for the country. Getting a clue who the bad guys are, eh? They are the ones that look out for themselves or their ideology before the citizens. Dems/Reps are just an illusion... we need to elect people who care more about the country than themselves (sort of like the soldiers in Iraq). But PLEASE stop calling yourself a libertarian... all you are is a Republican apologist. You LOVE the Republicans, you are their Lap Doggie. The day you start taking a realistic view of the disaster of this admin and Congress is the day you get some respect from me. Not that it matters.
