I really suspect that in retrospect, if we're lucky, we'll discover that this wave of Republican "privatization" of goverment and military functions has really just been a scam to provide kickbacks and reward cronys. That really seems to be the Bush admin's reason for existing.

Don't you know that privatization is always cheaper? Get with the blind ideology! Facts don't matter, truthiness does!


What's also different......TX refineries process mostly 'sweet' oil, a third of which is pumped closeby. CA refineries uses mostly Alaskan and imported sour oil from which to make gas. Its more difficult to make gas from sour than crude. Plus, there are considerable transportation costs bringing it in.
