To which the American replied, "15-25 years." "But what then?"

I heard a mexican version a long time ago - makes you wonder why all the mexicans leave thier sleepy relaxing villages to come to west palm beach and work thier asses off building unneeded houses and condos. We have sold them on the idea of materialism perhaps - big house, gas guzzling hummer and 3 hour wait queues in the red lobster and cheesecake factory line. Belief systems are powerful things. Did we sell the men on that idea - or the men's women?

take siesta with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening HAHA no car loser!

Is Maria still content with a lazy sloppy smelly fisher man for a husband.

I bet he aint getting none of Maria Mish ;)

I was at the hospital a few days ago and met a man from Malta. They are in the top 5 for best living at nationmaster.com Said he came to the states to work for GM many decades ago - retired in 1980 - I said why leave that nice relaxing small island you lived on for crazy hectic pace of America - he said he couldn't make any money back home - I asked what did you need money for - he said a CAR! I said HUH? Anyways it all boiled down too when TV got widespread in Malta you had a better pick in girlfriends and wives if you were seen as a "successful" man with a car. Steve mcqueen in his car or james dean on his motorcycle I guess was seen as the new alpha male - not sloppy fisher man.

Take your fishing man from Greece - tell him he can have no stinky hole unless he adopt the ways of materialism - he will be a changed man! The markerting departments of the world have done their duty and ruined our garden of eden - bastards.

Tempted eve with the fruit of materialism and uneeded shopping sales and she beats down poor adam to comply with this new knowledge or he wouldn't get under the fig leaf :(

Modern day Maria:

Where in real life if all you are is a lazy fisherman - your best shot at happiness is real doll cause maria aint gonna give you the time of day fisher man!! I read "the old man and the sea" as a boy - the most he had to look forward to was chasing a fish - like captain ahab - didn't have anna nicole smith to keep him occupied.

Would monica have hung with slick willie if he was just some fisherman?

Remember how it works - peg sees commerical on TV for some new needless knick knack - and al either forks over the dough or she takes his ass to divorce court and send him to debtor prison.

Maria - Or Eve - or Grace - or whatever you want to call her today is not content with a fisher man Mish!! Jesus had to buy a hooker - and he was the son of God.

Mind Of Mencia did the most hilarious skit I have ever seen on this - Holy Macaroni!!

She (grace) tries to equate my house size (little TRAILER) with being a failure - that is failure of her materialism and viewing success as a measure of house size or having a wegmans in walking distance - well here I will take it further - I actually have OFTEN slept on the ground out in the woods with friends and family - on the street - I am even a bigger failure than the bums living in a car - hehe.

Sleeping out in the woods for weeks or months at a time fishing or hunting with NO roof - what losers eh? We could have slept at the ritz and bought the meat and fish at wegmans eh?

So, Mish, is your life nowadays more like the investment banker's, or more like the Greek fisherman's?
