I'm way too long in the tooth Hawk. I've seen it all before, two or three times. Yeah.. and you're going to see it again.. I've never said that in the "small picture" there are faults and "angles" in US foreign policy, depending upon what special interest is involved.. But I also see the "BIG PICTURE". The big picture is that the Mid-East is a region that is so corrupt and devoid of political freedoms and accountable government, that its people are seeking new ideas in order to instill pride and hope in their people. And the Islamo-Fascists are intently targeting this tension and using their Madrassas to brain-wash the youthful masses to provide the soldiers of Jihad. And as it stands right now, we're in the process of nipping it in the bud by standing up and confronting it before it's obtained a momentum of its own. We're forcing the Muslims to recognize the "dirty side" of I-F.. They are suffereing terrorism by suicide bombs, something previous thought to be relegated to being used against "infidels". Now, suddenly, they are finding THEY ARE CONSIDERED the infidels and many of them are understanding they have as much at stake in defeating I-F as the West does. We must REMOVE THE GLAMOUR of Jihad from the minds of the Musliim world and show it for what it is.. a brutal and oppression belief that exploits, and oppresses Muslims to carry out the agenda of a group of megalo-maniacs. We're forcing the Muslim world to wage the war between moderation, toleration, and human freedom against those who would seek to deny this to them and the rest of the world. And this is crucial (as well as painful to watch) if we're going to defeat this fanatical religious ideology. I dare say we can not defeat I-F without generating this realization amongst Muslims, even if they may also resent the US for forcing this realization upon them. I do admit to being deliberatly provocative, but I really do take such claims about translated captured documents proving evil-doer intentions with a large grain of salt. Well, I guess I have a FAR DIFFERENT opinion, having spent 1 1/2 years dealing with such translated minutiae of the Iraqi regime. I have little doubt about their authenticity. Hawk
