Your article was about Haliburton profits going up. Gee - do you think that might have something to do with the price of oil going up when they major business is oil services?

It is exactly this sweeping type of argument that makes me think you really aren't tracking the situation very well. You need to check out the Kellogg Brown and Root segment of Haliburton's business to say anything about profitability. Just a hint, they aren't making any money on it and are trying to get rid of it from Haliburton. Probably some of it is to avoid the exact argument that you make above, suggesting that the whole company's profitability is the same as the KBR segment.

By the way, do you know what company had the contract to serve the troops in the war in Bosnia? Who do you suppose awarded that contract? Was it because he was buddy budy with Haliburton or could it have been that Haliburton was the best company to provide the services at the lowest cost?
