<Wouldn't this imply that the god did not have an original goal, and was just toying around in a sandbox?>

I don't know... any goal we can think up would be limited by our level of intelligence/awareness/conciousness I would think. So perhaps it would look like "toying around in a sandbox" to us untill some future realization (coinciding with a scientific paradigm shift no doubt).

<Are you proposing god as an artist?>

I don't know... are artists separate from the universe?? So I suppose the answer would have to be YES... among many other things. :)

BTW, What is art?:

<Wouldn't this imply that the god did not have an original goal,>

It occurs to me that this comment also seems to imply some sort of anthropomorphic god that:

1.) Creates once with a magic wand then walks away... as opposed to an everpresent background or 'field' of god, creation, or whatever.
2.) Would be able or even 'want' to have a goal that wouldn't entail ongoing or further growth or creation as conditions change.
3.) Would 'see' things the way we do, and hence the presumption that the "original goal" would be "something we would like or at least discern".

What if the 'original goal' was something like increased intelligence, beauty, love, awareness, etc. all within the parameters of this particular situation {ie. this planet, etc)??

Or perhaps there is no "original goal" so to speak. Does it matter? Does it mean no god?
