The threat of having no control over who is allowed to be an American, and having no requirements for fluency in English is of great concern to Americans.

President Bush went to Omaha to stump for Amnesty in the backyard of one of the most Blue Dog Senators, Ben Nelson (who is running for reelection). Ben says he is for enforcing our borders before we create more entitlements.

I agree with you on the illegals situation, Ann. Most people, left and right, are concerned about the border situation. I'm wondering how many more are now even more concerned after hearing about the Canadian folks arrested with more than 3 TONS of fertilizer and other weapons....Oklahoma City took 1 1/2 tons to do the damage...

The only reason I can think of for Bush to be so much of a "mugwump" about the ILLEGAL situation is that this country is so divided politically...about 50-50%....so he tries to stay right in the middle. Not because of himself, but because of the other Repubs who are running for office.

If that is the case, I could understand. All we have to do there is think how much the landscape would change under any of the current crop of Democrats....Gore, Dean, Kerry, Pelosi, Reid, ad nasaum..... If the Repubs decide to stay away from voting, we will get the current Dems, and I can't believe that is what we really want.

All we can really do is continue trying to make the WH understand we do NOT want ILLEGALS coming into this country. Period! We may need some migrant help with the crops, etc...but we do NOT need the help to come from ILLEGALS.
