The arabs have enough land to spare what probably amounts to about 1% for the jewish state. Having lots of land doesn't mean you don't mind when 1% of it is taken from you. In the analogy, the US has lots of land to spare, but if communists took part of Kansas and made it an independent communist homeland, Americans wouldn't just say "oh we have lots of other places, good luck ya commies in your new country, surrounded by the US". We'd fight with them forever. Personally I think that Israel and the occuppied territories should be turned into a land where all religions are treated equally and citizenship is given based on something other than religion, but that's just me! None of the stakeholders (Israelis and Palestinians) share that goal, as far as I know...
