"...not as a weapon to oppress the masses"

Really? Try this on for size if you're a Muslim and having your door broken down by Americans with crosses:

"President Bush's reference to a "crusade" against terrorism, which passed almost unnoticed by Americans, rang alarm bells in Europe. It raised fears that the terrorist attacks could spark a 'clash of civilizations' between Christians and Muslims, sowing fresh winds of hatred and mistrust."

csmonitor.com

"I certainly don't see him expressing his religiousity to the extent that we see Ahmadinejad."

bbc.co.uk

"President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'"

Americans aren't well-traveled or well-read but they are ridiculously and absurdly religious either truly or for show. That Americans complain about Islamic fundamentalism is absurd when this industrialized, high-tech country is equally religious.

Do you think an atheist could get elected to a big office in this country? If not, why not? Religion is a prerequisite for office in the US of A. How silly is that?

It's chocolate eaters and vanilla eaters throwing exploding nuts and flaming cherries at each other nothing more. Besides, religion is just the facade this is all about power and money.
