Why wouldn't people run their own finances that way? We are, after all, the ones who elect people to do so on a national scale.

That "fantasy" has been reality for many investors in places like Florida and California over the last 8 years.

Whether it will reverse, into John's scenario, is yet to be seen.

But fact is, I personally know of a few who have, or are in the process of, cashing out with enough to retire on while most on this board debate inflation/deflation.

Mish, This sort of thinking has worked in Calif for oh, maybe 60 or 70 years. Where have you been ?
