I agree Russ. I don't get the sense that the shorts have pressed their bets here at all. In fact, I think a lot of shorts have been covered.

Lots of dip buyers expecting a snap back rally to new highs like we've been so accustomed to seeing for the past 3 years.

If 1246 on the S&P500 and 700 on the Russell 2000 gives away, I think we'll see a lot of towels thrown in.

I'm pretty surprised that Barbera is so bullish right now. He seemed to start with the presumption that Bush needs a strong stock market and then went searching for the technical analysis to support a bullish call.

Futures rollover start tomorrow. Heinz had said there were record long positions. We have probably been seeing the unwinding of those positions the past few days.

Tomorrow, expect bulls to be buying tomorrow, just how much we rally is the big question. JMO
