Name some important scientific development during the last 29 years! and then compared the number with the first 17 years of the founding of the new China! see which period is more efficient! And keep in mind, ALL the achievement during the first 17 years were got under the economic Boycott of the West! Plus, without the accumulation of the national wealth during Mao's era, there will be NO ANY of the so-called economic miracle in Deng's, Jiang's era!! People tend to forget the first 9 steam bread they had when they feel full after eating the 10th! >>But, I lost a lot of respect to the man when he did nothing to the real organizers but agreed to execute a proving mentally handicap man which set a train on fire as a scapegoat in a live local TV court show after the 6/4 crack down.<< Don't know about that, and don't care! The only thing I know 6.4 Incidence was full of CIA finger prints, as well as Taiwan's involvement! That told me ALL! Ordinary people in Beijing were SOOO happy that the riot was cracked down! Otherwise, they would be starved to death in their own home since ALL the stores were closed! Not to mention there is indeed one silver lining resulted from 6.4 Incidence, which is the resulted boycott of the West. That forced China to make their own effort, instead of buying from the West, in developing the modern military technology. Look at the world class nuclear submarine, jet fighters, and some other high tech weapons China has developed on their own during the last 10-15 years. Without the boycott of the West, China could never have done that!
