Crisis has been deferred for the last 5+ years. It's impossible to save housing, consumer spending and our glass house economy at this point. Talk and coupon passes won't cut it. Barbera seems to believe that Bush wants crisis deferral so therefore he will get it. To avert crisis at this point, the Fed would have to lower interest rates by 100 basis points at the next meeting and government spending needs to be drastically increased. Come to think of it, that's probably the response to a terror attack.
