The Bushies use lies, subterfuge, propaganda, planted stories, spin and intimidation to try and control the flow of information. Especially after 9-11, the American People did not get the truth from their TV's or anywhere. That is a less a problem now as the press has wpoken up in general, but it's still troublesome as the rightwing continue using their Soviet-style propaganda machine (which lies without conscience) and many people fall for their BS. For instance, according to the rightwing, Saddam had WMD's, was teamed with Al Qaida, and the sun rises in the west and sets in the east.
