These are not my elected officials. This man sits in the white house, but he is not my president in spirit.

I have no objection to the US distancing itself from an organization that gives some legitimacy to authoritarian, unelected regimes that are despised by the populations that they rule over.

Fine, then the "US" should not appeal to it for sanctions against Iran or use its many resolutions to justify the invasion of Iraq, ignoring the resolutions passed on Israel by the way...and...whip up the leathernecks at home for political points by bashing it.
