I think the entire public discussion about troops levels and listening to commanders on the ground is purely politics. When you cut through the noise and look at the big picture, it clearly paints a picture of two few troops on the ground.

There is no advantage gained by having less troops that could possibly outweigh having enough troops on the ground and winning the war decisevely and quickly...
