I don't think it will change very much - it's a while since we've heard much or heard of much attributed to him or his group, but he's one who definitely deserved to die.

It's certainly a step in the right direction. Getting rid of the foreign elements, who really are just there for mayhem and murder, has to be good: I have no problem terming these people terrorists rather than insurgents, because they are not defending or resisting invaders, or really doing anything that might be protrayed as understandable.

Harking back to NI, of course, foreigners aren't needed for a viable homegrown insurgent/rebel/resistance/terrorist movement... It's a while since I pointed this out, but Sinn Fein in the terrorist days in NI rarely passed 5-10% at ballot (even while mouthing words against violence), and the IRA was reliably estimated at only a few hundred active and a few thousand assistance, with some tens of thousands sympathising.
