And yes.. he should have been fired.

Probably. Hope you're sitting down...there's a double standard when it comes to senior executives, political appointees, general officers and the rest of the pukes.

If the leaders are violating the rule, then how can they expect the underlings to obey?

H-y-p-o-c-r-i-s-y.

I've been with women friends that condemn another woman friend when they know she is having an affair with a married man. I'm old enough to know to nod in support; knowing full well the woman I'm talking to is having an affair with a married man. How can they do that?

How can illegal aliens protest with signs saying We're not criminals.?

How many law biding citizens obey the speed limit?

Human beings have a great capacity of rationalizing all sorts of behavior.

I don't know what was worse, taking the classified home or the security office ignoring the regulations. After a few weeks of internal struggle, I talked to someone in the IG. Yup, there's a double standard. Any allegations about senior executives are examined by only senior executives in the IG office, by policy. The published rationale for that policy is to protect lower level GS's from retributon by the senior executive. The commoner's view of the policy is to make sure any allegation can quickly get swept under the rug. You decide.
