I've seen Argentina/Ivory Coast, England/Paraguay, Sweden/TrinidadTobago, and most of Germany/Costa Rica so far. Watching Holland/Serbia as I write. The Dutch are OK, not Clockwork Orange of past.

Will watch Iran/Mexico in a few minutes; hope no bombs go off. Wonder if Ahmedstupidjad will show.

Viva Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!! But I hope the Iranian players don't get shot for wearing shorts like the poor Iraqi Davis Cup tennis players. What a world.

Thank God for Univision. Before I had cable, I watched the Cup on ABC, listening to a Spanish radio station. The ABC commentary was soooo boring, I had to ditch it.

The Germans were not quite as impressive as I expected, Sweden looked very good but was simply unlucky in tying against Trinidad Tobago [sorry, Jay], and the Argentinians have a lot of talent but seemed unfit, but this may be an unfair comparison because the Ivory Coast team was incredibly speedy. England seems the best so far.

Ivory Coast was very good on offense, but no defense. So it will be stymied by this fundamental lack [the score should have been 3-1, not 2-1; the referee didn't call the goalkeeper's own goal properly]. Coached by the brilliant Dutchman whose name I don't recall.
