would you rather that the industry monopoly fudge that standard...until, of course, AMD become that monopoly :)

I'd also rather it not be a federal government thing, but it would be nice if there was either one accepted standard, or perhaps 2 but with clear reasons for the two and both pieces of information widely available for most chips.
