With all the westerns and war movies I saw as a kid ans all the toy guns I had... I wonder why I'm not a gun toting hooligan .... I mean that stuff was as bad as all those bugs bunny cartoons that need censoring :O) In my school every boy had a knife, most kids learned to shoot (303's with a steel butt plate at the range, and .22's in the school gym...) and there were hunters or fishermen in most houses. Once you were in cubs, you had a hatchet, and a knife and in my neighbourhood a slingshot.... I carried a rock pick on our explorations until I was about 14, I have it still, and most mother's today would faint at the sight of it..... I still carry a knife in my pocket, for eating apples of course.
