@Joe - price moves
"
PS: I wonder if AMD waited too long.

When you ask me, AMD did a bit to much. I know that many
people praise DC units and its good stuff, but why sell these
"good" SC parts for so less money? Its clear, that theoretically
3000+ and 3200+ are EOL, but why not introduce faster parts,
as written a few weeks ago? Do you also think, that there is
NO market for faster SC (means 2,6-3,0G) parts on desktop?
I'm thinking about 180-250$ for these bins, which would be
4200+/4400+. And by the way, when I look at the 3000+ and
3200+ prices, I'm wondering who should buy a 3400+ to 3600+
Sempron?

Not at all. They milked the golden Venice E cow for as long as possible, now time to see how lean she can get ;-). Nice competitive prices and you can expect X2s to follow suit once Conroe tips up in Q3, this is what Hector meant by attack ;-). The X2 3600+ is a welcome addition to that range too. Let's be realistic though, AMD will probably be squeezed into the sub $300 range by Conroe before higher clock K8s or K8L turn up but that is where the real volume is and with ramping capacity they can clean up over Netbust in that range and still turn over green quarters. The clock is ticking though and once Conroe is Intel's complete range they do need the cavalry as the sub $200 space will become populated with 4MB Core 2s and that will be really tough for AMD then if there are no substantial improvements over the current 90nm K8.
