Abolishing estate taxes creates a permanent upperclass which acquires more and more for themselves leaving less and less for everyone else. That was what we had during the robber baron era. And the upperclass basically controlled our government too.

That was not the America we know and love. It was cruel, corrupt and unfair.

The dems should be willing to compromise on the estate tax. $5m would be a reasonable exemption. While that is a lot of money it's hardly filthy stinking rich.

People have no incentive to save or invest if the government is ultimately going to take 1/2 of each incremental dollar they earn.
