I honestly don't get how AMD's shares are getting hammered

They are going to miss Q2 guidance, and Q3 outlook will be grim, too.

Well, first of all the overall market is flat out crashing, with AMD a high beta stock that's expected to move more than the overall market, and secondly it's pretty clear that AMD is facing a scorched earth price war from a company that's 8 times it's size - was 10 times a couple of months ago :-).

That's enough to give investors pause.
