Bush has no more excuses for staying the course. Zarqawi was his one boogey man and Zarqawi is gone. Apart from him, it is 99% a civil war, much of it fueled by our presence there.

On the other hand, as Powell warned Bush, if you break it you pay for it. So our debt to Iraq is not quite over. Trouble is, the US gets nothing in return but heartache.

This would be the perfect time for Bush to call an end to the US occupation. But of course he won't. He never will no matter what.
