I was a prodigy. I could always tell when my parents were lying to me. After about ten years, I reached the inescapable conclusion it was between Saturday and Friday, when their lips were moving.

<Their own personality and brain structure does not keep them from being able to achieve this single-minded type of obsession; a very good argument can be made that in many case it fosters it.>

Obsession is a key word as it is often observed that these children are not just "able to achieve" single-minded type obsessions... they are drawn to it as an escape from the anxiousness they experience form other activities like social interactions.

It's often a 'fine line' that is walked by parents with these children as society has it's expectations and norms.

yes, I agree with that LC. In fact, that is the point as far as I can discern. Each of those four things you mention have a specific location in the brain that does the majority of the calculating. In fact computers can now do any of the four things better than any person. But computers cannot think as well as us. I think-lol.

Understanding one hand clapping requires the work of the entire brain working in concert. No residue brain matter left over for nonsense. Avoiding the lion comes first-lol.

People with balanced left and right hemisphers are the best at predicting. So I would say find someone with knowledge of the markets and then evaluate how compatible their two hemisphers are-lol.

I am glad you and gib are learning to control yourselves and extending compassion in the face of disabilities-lol.

You tell your students they have me to thank-lol.
