I can see that we came oh-so-close to tagging the 100 day EMA on POG last night. Saw on Bloomberg that one of the brokerages raised their 2006 POG target to $650 and the rating on NEM to Buy. 2007 POG target is $675 then $550 the year after that. Not much of a bull market. More like a disgruntled cow market.

The bounce feels very artificial imho. Art Cashin had some good comments on CNBC yesterday at the start of it saying that they were doing it by just jamming the Dow. That's what it felt like. Decent volume in the PMs, but given that gold and silver probably have more work to do I suspect we'll at least get close to a retest of yesterday's levels at some pt. Going to see how today plays out before I get too stuck mentally in one path or another.

Most boards were dead yesterday. I think most people (including myself) were very reluctant to buy anything yesterday as it could have become much worse.
