Also the Pentium D 805, a dual core, goes for $93. AMDs cheapest dual core is $300, although, it's probably a better chip, it would be very tempting for people who want to get the best bang for buck.

The problem is that Pentium D 805 level performance (2.66 GHz) on single core apps (the majority) is something one would want to upgrade FROM not TO
