jpg: A lot of Cubs fans are very frustrated with the talented Kerry Wood...The Cubs made a HUGE bet on him and he has unfortunately been unable to live up to his potential...He was just put back on the 15 day DL again today...a friend sent me this email this afternoon...

<<...I for one cannot wait until we are rid of Kerry Wood. The guy has pitched less than 230 innings in two plus seasons going back to the day he signed the $32.5 million three-year deal before the 2004 season. Wood sure was lucky that he cashed in after the 2003 season. Since then, we have gotten a total of 12 wins from Kerry. Yep, 12 wins in two plus years. Let's go out on a limb and say that Kerry wins three more games this year, which I believe is a stretch. But let's give him the benefit of the doubt, okay? $32.5 million for 15 wins. Hmmm...I guess that would be over $2 million for every win. As Ira Gershwin once wrote, "Nice Work If You Can Get It" (and if you can get it, oh won't you tell me how.)...>>
