Agreeing that Colter is intelligent and can be very witty is about as far as I can go with you. She writes for a choir that already knows and loves her music, not to persuade others. I find her about as pleasant to listen to as Schoenberg and I never willingly listen to his work. On talkshows, she interrupts and never listens, as far as I can tell, and she has her own form of PC, acceptable to her followers. When I do agree with something she says, it is in spite of her, not because of her. True intelligence and wit shouldn't need to rely on that kind of display. And gosh, yes, I wish some thinking people would step forward for the coming elections-- from either party. I guess that's where we differ. You seem to see all the ugliness on only one side of the aisle, and I see it on both. I wonder if Unity 08 will gain any traction.... have you seen that site?
