>>For me the easiest way to demonstrate someone's absurdity is to reply with something at least equally absurd so I did. Clifford having me on his ignore list is a hoot.

The current party out of power is grabbing at blades of grass as they fall off the cliff, witness their reaction that Zarqawi was still alive. Well, I've killed many snakes and they still crawl away...

So Bush made Eve eat the forbidden fruit, give me a reason to vote FOR someone else.
:)

Btw, when did Clinton fire those missiles?<<

Steve -

August 20, 1998. Soon after the bombings of two U.S. Embassies in Africa.

From the CNN web site story on that date:

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Saying "there will be no sanctuary for terrorists," President Clinton on Thursday said the U.S. strikes against terrorist bases in Afghanistan and a facility in Sudan are part of "a long, ongoing struggle between freedom and fanaticism."

Here's the link to the whole story: cnn.com

For people who bring up the tired old idea that 9/11 was Clinton's fault because he did nothing to combat terrorism, I like to point out a couple of things.

First, George Bush mentioned the subject of terrorism twice during the 2000 campaign. Once was in a response to a question on the subject during one of the televised debates.

In his first State of the Union address, in February of 2001, he used the word "terrorists" once, in this context: "Our Nation also needs a clear strategy to confront the threats of the 21st century, threats that are more widespread and less certain. They range from terrorists who threaten with bombs to tyrants in rogue nations intent upon developing weapons of mass destruction. To protect our own people, our allies, and friends, we must develop and we must deploy effective missile defenses."

Missile defenses? Yeah, those would have been effective on 9/11. But apparently terrorists weren't really on his radar at all, as Bush and his top people (including then National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice) had exactly ZERO meetings on the subject of terrorism from the time the administration took office through September 10th.

As far as giving you a reason to vote FOR someone, we'd have to be talking specific candidates.
