A much better strategy is to make limestone in the oceans, thus building some artificial Islands, which could be sold for big $, thus paying for the whole solution.

At 5-6Gt/year of CO2, we could be adding lots of Islands in places like the Maldives, where the sea is shallow. There have been such proposals...
