We've had the E10 here since 1974 with no problems. That blend gets 1 to 2 % better milage in a test done by our electric co-op. Now the E85 is new here but from what I've read the flex fuel vehicles don't do well on the E85 because they're designed to run on straight gas or the E85. If they design a vehicle to run ONLY on E85 with higher compression it would match the results of straight gas. Problem is if you put straight gas or E10 in that vehicle it would blow the engine. Watch the Indy 500 next year, they'll all be running pure ethanol. This year they ran 90% wood alcohol and 10% ethanol. Still turned laps at 220 plus.
