Speaking for dead people is always an iffy proposition, but since you started it....there is a good chance Winston Churchill would be cheering.

As far as the credit card comment, chalk it up to the nature of the beast....baseline budgets, which are are acts of pure financial cowardice and a total advocation of any form of actual management, pretty well assures the bloat and waste increases annually. Many in congress couldn't manage a 7-11, though they seem efficient at spending readily available campaign funds. Any true motivation for fiscal responsibility seems to be a secondary concern to reelection.

Bush has taken us out of a VERY bad recession, or perhaps worse. Remember 2000-2001? I do....Recruiters do know at least 6-9 months ahead of time what the economic status is for jobs... Nationally, recruiters knew in MARCH 2000 that the economy was tanking in a big way. The election was in November 2000. We didn't even know who the President was for two months....time the new administration could have had for planning. By the time Bush took over in Jan 2001, the charts had been heading south for several months. If you don't believe that, go look at them. You will see for yourself.

Then the China plane incident in March-April of 2001.

Bush's nominees for the various offices weren't approved by Congress for months, due to Democrat rangling....

THEN 9-11. Changed. Everything.

Do you want to stop funding all the various safeguards we have had to put in place to try to protect America, Americans, and American interests?

If so, which do you want to cut first?

The CIA "boots on the ground" intel had been totally slashed under Clinton. Did you want that funding to stay slashed? Why do you think we had not a clue as to WMD in Iraq? Even Eason Jordan, head of ALL CNN News world wide, admitted that CNN had not been honest about their reporting/non-reporting from Iraq....Did you miss that? Check it out.

The ONLY job of the Federal Government is to "Provide for the Common Defense".....(Check the Preamble of the Constitution of the United States)

It is NOT mandated to provide for every social program that rears its head....

I will grant you that Bush should have vetoed some of the bills that have come forth....
