Why is there such a noticeable lack of commentary from liberal pundits regarding the numerous arrests--becoming almost common--of urban Islamist terrorists in the West? They have to pretend it isn't happening. It violates everything they believe in. Look at this line from the article on Canada that I just posted. The school ties have some people here asking if Canada's attempt to accommodate all faiths and backgrounds -- many Canadian schools offer rooms for Friday prayers and foster Muslim student clubs -- is encouraging religious divisions. Our commentators agree with what was done by the Canadians. They don't understand why it didn't work. I just watched Hitchens on C-SPAN giving a presentation on his book on Jefferson. He was discussing Jefferson's attempt to deal with the Muslim Ambassador from Tripoli, and stop the capturing of our ships and the enslavement of our citizens. The Ambassador explained to Jefferson that the Koran gave Muslims the right-nay, the duty- to do this. Which is why Jefferson went to war with Tripoli. And won our first battle with Muslims. That is why "the shores of Tripoli" is in the Marine hymn.
