If ya like us, you need the rain...

With the growing season, you take it whenever you can get it.

I'll share a funny with you.

Our little neighborhood (22 houses) used to share a community water well. It was a pain in the rear, but the water was good and the price was right ($100 every six months). It was great until we realized we didn't have much in the way of fire protection, and as more folks used more water, we often had supply problems.

I got the call to take care of the situation and after a year, our little neighborhood was connected to a rural water supply with limitless capacity. What we didn't know, was the water district choose to increase the water rates just as we hooked up. All of our houses are on 1 acre lots and most have irrigation systems.

We all soon found out that to keep our years green, it would take $300 per month for the water alone! I went on the warpath with the districts board of directors and found them to be of good ole boy mentality. They are even considering an additional increase in rates, currently!

Here's the end of the story.

I had my own well drilled and now the missus waters her growing things and keeps her yard nice and wet whenever she wants, and the water district is in the process of loosing some income from a small group of P.O.'d homeowners!

Have a good one.
